The Kurds are an ethnic group primarily inhabiting a region known as Kurdistan, which spans across parts of Turkey, Syria, Iraq, and Iran. They have a distinct culture, language, and history, and have been striving for greater recognition and freedom.

Kurds have fought against every major enemy and threat to the US throughout the Cold War, first and second Gulf wars, war against ISIS, and the ongoing proxy war with Iran. Yet very few Americans know about the Kurds, and the US government continues to ignore the Kurdish struggle for freedom.

The Kurdish community faces challenges such as political oppression, forced assimilation, territorial disputes, and ongoing conflicts in the regions where Kurds reside. These challenges impact their quest for autonomy and cultural preservation.
