Visitation Program

We hope the new relationships will develop and  increase understanding of the Kurds, and their importance to American policy.

The AKC hopes to develop a program in which 4-6 delegations of up to 12 participants will do an exchange visit between Erbil and the D.C. offices.

These individuals will come from different walks of life, including national politicians, academics, public intellectuals, local government officials, artists, and others.

Latest News About The Kurds

The Kurds are about 60 million people strong, and inhabit areas within four of the Middle East’s most problematic countries: Turkey, Syria, Iraq, and Iran.

Today, Kurds have established two self-governed entities in Iraq and Syria. The Kurdistan Region of Iraq is officially recognized within the Iraqi state, while Kurds in north and northeast Syria have formed an autonomous region, backed by the United States.
